Location West End Library is conveniently located at 999 Sargent Avenue as part of the expanded Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex.
Parking There is plenty of public parking on the east side of the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex. By Bus The West End Library is located along the #15 Sargent bus route. The westbound transit stop on Sargent Avenue at Minto Street is #10464 and the eastbound transit stop at Sargent Avenue and Minto Street is #10463.
Collections & Circulation West End Library has a diverse collection of both adult and children's fiction and non-fiction, appealing to and reflecting the needs of the multi-ethnic culture in the West End area. Mysteries, cookbooks, crafts, do-it-yourself, books in large type and picture books as well as magazines are in great demand. There is a large collection of adult, young adult, and children's paperbacks for leisure reading.
Audio books, CDs and DVDs are a vibrant and growing part of the adult, young adult and children's collections. A rotating collection of books written in Chinese, Vietnamese and Philipino languages are also available for borrowing.
West End Library houses a unique literacy collection. These materials target all levels of language development, and some instructor guides are included. West End Library circulates over 60,000 items each year.
Facilities West End Library is a new wheelchair accessible, single story facility attached to the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex. There are PCs, two cozy leisure reading areas, many study tables adjacent to sunny windows and a tutoring room.
A book chute is located just to the left of the front entrance for after hours returns.

Orientations to library membership and borrowing are available for classes, daycares, literacy programs, or other groups with advance notice.
Call2Recycle Battery Recycling Winnipeg Public Library has joined the Call2Recycle battery recycling initiative. All libraries now have special recycling boxes where you can dispose of batteries and cell phones. Simply put your used batteries and cell phones in the bags provided and we'll do the rest.

History The original West End Library, located at 823 Ellice Avenue, was officially opened on October 14, 1966 by Mayor Stephen Juba. It served as a bookmobile depot as well as a public library. The new West End Library celebrated its Grand Opening, in conjunction with the Recreation Complex, on February 20, 2009. Olympic skater Cindy Klassen attended as a special guest for this event.
